Learning the Rules

Puppies, like children, need boundaries. I have ALWAYS had a rule with my large breed dogs; no getting on the furniture.I have enforced this rule, even though I have often wanted to let them climb up on the sofa or onto the bed. It has worked well, but recently I have had a slight change of heart. My husband would be the first to say I spoil this new puppy. He has wormed his way into my heart, and against my better judgment, onto the furniture. I may regret this decision, but I have set a few boundaries. The only time he can be on the furniture is when invited. This is true of all my furniture except the bench at the end of my bed, where he loves to sleep. So far, he has respected this boundary. Time will tell.
