Every year on Memorial Day, I am excited for the Monday away from the office, as I am sure many others are. We should reflect on the freedoms we all enjoy during our time away because of the many sacrifices others have made to ensure this freedom. Over the past few years, this country has suffered immeasurably. Coronavirus, several wars, violence in the streets, cities under siege, and school shootings have left the country unsure of its future. Today, we should put aside our differences, remember the fallen soldiers who never returned from battle, and feel hope that there is nothing too large for our country to overcome. Because of their sacrifice, we should work hard to be the country they believed in protecting.
